Rooted in Redlands: University Quad Revitalization

First planted in the mid-1920s, oak trees transformed what was farmland into a stunning campus quad. Nearly a century later, many of those beautiful oaks have succumbed to age and disease.

To replace the missing oaks on the perimeter of the quad with local trees grown from the acorns of the original oaks and grow our urban forest for the enjoyment of the next century’s Bulldogs, we invite you, and other close supporters of the University, to join us in raising $250,000 by June 30, 2024. New trees are already scheduled to be planted in June 2024.

With more than 1,400 trees, the University of Redlands was one of the first campuses recognized as a member of the Arbor Day Foundation’s “Tree Campus” program. This distinctive honor, coupled with the University's goals for sustainability, indicates that our trees are much more than aesthetics. They are critical to the health and well-being of our campus community and our surrounding neighborhoods.
