The Honors College offers an immediate community and a powerful, transformative experience that enriches the education journey of each student by providing a larger context for their academic program. Through Honors, students will complete a variety of high-impact practices like innovative coursework, robust programming, access to undergraduate research, and a vibrant community.
We strive to be a robust, rich, and stimulating program that benefits from the unique perspectives and diverse cultures of its students, faculty, and staff. An Honors education develops students into well-rounded and interdisciplinary thinkers, problem-solvers, and life-long learners who contribute to their communities and are equipped with intellectual, cultural, and ethical tools to meet regional and global demands.
Your gift to the Honors College Trust Fund during Seahawks Give will play a vital role in supporting key initiatives and programs both inside and outside the classroom. Your gift can help provide funding for:
- Comprehensive co-curricular programming from the first semester through graduation that includes leadership and service opportunities on campus and in the community, in addition to domestic and global study abroad experiences. The UNCW Honors signature experience is our annual Honors Lyceum trip to D.C., but we also offer an unplugged Spring Break in Asheville and a myriad of local cultural events.
- The Honors College curriculum, which offers small, engaging classes that foster curiosity, critical thinking, and hands-on learning with dedicated faculty. Every semester we offer unique enrichment and interdisciplinary seminars that students cannot find in their majors.
- Access to undergraduate research opportunities, enhancing students’ academic experiences and fostering innovation, and other high-impact practices such as internships and sponsored student conference travel.
- Scholarships for students based on merit
