College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts Excellence Fund

The College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts (CHSSA) offers programs that expand knowledge and promote creativity across a wide variety of disciplines that speak to being human in important ways. CHSSA offers limitless opportunities for students to engage in collaborative and interdisciplinary research and service while also making a positive societal impact. Our students will have the necessary preparation for rewarding careers, advanced study, effective citizenship and meaningful lives.

Gifts to the College of Humanities, Social Sciences, and the Arts Excellence Fund provide critical support for priority initiatives and programs across the college such as:

• Undergraduate research support which provides students with needed supplies and equipment, as well as funding to attend conferences where they can present their innovative findings.
• Graduate programs to develop intellectual competence and to prepare the student for careers in business, industry, government, teaching or for further study at the doctoral level.
• Bringing speakers and other experts to UNCW, giving students a unique insight into their field of interest.
• Applied learning experiences such as research opportunities and internships, giving students a competitive career advantage
• Scholarships to attract and retain top-notch students.
