About

They say you never get a second chance to make a first impression. For students preparing for interviews, internships, career fairs, and first jobs, that first impression can shape their future.

But what happens when a student has earned the opportunity, put in the work, built the skills, and belongs in the room yet lacks access to professional attire? Financial barriers should never stand between a Spartan and the opportunities they've worked so hard to achieve.

That belief led to the creation of the UNCG Career Closet. Our mission is simple: support UNC Greensboro students as they take their next steps into the professional world with confidence, dignity, and style.

The UNCG Career Closet provides free, career-ready attire to Spartans preparing to enter the professional world, ensuring no student is held back because they lack access to appropriate clothing. Through a welcoming, boutique-style experience, students can access professional attire and styling support that allows them to show up prepared, polished, and ready to succeed.

Thanks to the generosity of donors and community partners, we have helped more than 500 students make strong first impressions and step into opportunity.
join us in creating equitable opportunities for success for our students, one professionally appropriate outfit at a time.

Here's how your support can help:
• $10 - provides an essential accessory (tie, belt, socks, or jewelry) to help complete a professional look.
• $25 - Supplies two career-ready clothing items (blouse, button-down shirt, or dress pants).
• $50 - Provides a full professional outfit for one student.
• $100 - Provides a full professional outfit for two students.
• $250 - Helps sustain and expand the UNCG Career Closet to serve more students.
• $500 - Contributes to the installation of a permanent, year-round professional closet on campus
