School of Education

The School of Education has a proud history of creating life-changing opportunities through education. Currently, our teacher education programs have graduates in over 75% of North Carolina’s public school districts. UNCG produces more K-12 education professionals than the seven other schools in our region combined.

In recent rankings, our graduate counseling program was rated 11th in the nation and the best in North Carolina. The U.S. News & World Report rankings also placed us 10th nationally (second in the state) in the Best School Library Media Specialty area and 29th nationally (second in the state) among the Best Master’s in Library and Information Science programs. We also boast the 12th rated Best Online Master’s in Special Education and are ranked 16th for the Best Online Master’s in Education for Veterans.

This year, we are working to enhance the services provided to our students in the form of our Academic Support Hub. The Hub provides tutoring and preparation for the Praxis Core and Pearson Reading exams. In addition, our Vacc Counseling and Consulting Clinic allows master's and doctoral students to have hands-on practicum experience here on campus as they work with members of the UNCG, Greensboro, and North Carolina communities. Finally, through the Institute for Partnerships in Education (IPiE), we are constantly working to created collaborations with local school districts to enhance opportunities for students and teachers alike.
