College of Arts and Sciences

The College of Arts & Sciences is the University's largest academic unit, with more than 20 departments and programs in the arts, humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and mathematics. We are dedicated to the liberal arts mission of higher education, which is to develop the skills and knowledge needed by citizens of a free and just society. 

Your gift will help affirm our role as the bedrock of this University, while supporting these important funding priorities: 

• Increasing endowed professorships and developing research labs. 
• Expanding graduate opportunities (especially fellowships) for underrepresented groups. 
• Enhancing high-impact student practices, such as study-abroad and internship programs for undergraduate students. 

Below are some areas that you can support or you can give back to the department that supported your academic development!

• College of Arts & Sciences Enrichment Fund: Support the University’s bedrock of education. 
• John Z. and Helen G. Kiss Scholarship in Biology and History: We invite donors to give to this fund, established by our outgoing dean of the College of Arts & Sciences and his wife, and supporting Biology and History students with financial need. 
• Mary O'Donnell Graduate Award in English: This award was established to honor the legacy of Mary O’Donnell, an MFA and PhD student in the late '80s and early '90s, whose perseverance in overcoming numerous health challenges was an inspiration to many of her classmates.    
• Rosemery Nelson-Gray Graduate Award in Psychology: This award was established to honor and recognize Rosemery’s 50+ years of remarkable instruction and research in the UNCG Psychology Department, countless contributions to the Greensboro community, and worldwide contributions to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.  
• Robert Cannon Microbiology Lab Renovation Fund: This fund will help us equip the new, unfinished microbiology lab in the Nursing and Instructional Building (NIB) with microscopes, petri dish racks, and much more.
