During this week, when we honor the anniversary of Michael's passing and what would be his 47th birthday, we are reminded of the spirit, kindness, and lasting impact he brought to the UNC Asheville community.
While Michael's time with us was far too brief, his memory continues to inspire. In honor of this week, we invite you to celebrate Michael’s life through a gift that carries their legacy forward.
2024:
As we all reflect on the five-year anniversary of losing Michael, the family is grateful for the opportunity to have four, first-generation students at UNCA annually receiving a scholarship in his memory.
To commemorate Michael, the family would like to increase our goal to $100,000 to ensure the Michael Armstong Memorial Scholarship lives on in perpetuity.
2019-2023:
Thanks to the generosity of all who contributed to the Michael Armstrong Memorial Scholarship and helped us exceed our first goal of $30,000. Thank you!
To expand the impact of Michael's scholarship, our new goal is $80,000. Once the new goal is reached, we will have raised enough money for the endowed scholarship fund to produce four scholarships each academic year with one recipient in each academic class!
