Last year, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) at UNO faced a big challenge when all but one of the members graduated. That one student was determined to keep the chapter's spirit alive because they believe so strongly in what SHPE stands for.
We are proud and excited to announce that this spring, we found a fantastic group of passionate students who stepped up to form a new executive board. We're a brand-new team, and we're working together to rebuild SHPE at UNO from the ground up.
Right now, we're focused on regaining our traction on campus and creating a welcoming and supportive community for anyone interested in STEM. It’s a fresh start for us, and it’s a real opportunity to build a strong chapter that can support students for years to come.
We're just getting started, and we’d be thrilled to have you be a part of our journey.
Our goal is to send 7 students to represent UNO at the SHPE 2025 National Convention in Philadelphia, PA. The conference offers access to internships, technical skills workshops, and a network of over 10,000 STEM professionals and companies. Your support will:
- Cover conference registration fees
- Travel and flight costs
- Provide students with the tools and opportunities to become the next generation of engineers!
