NOLA to Nationals: NSBE UNO's Journey to Chicago

The Team We are the proud members of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at the University of New Orleans—a diverse group of 17 students, including 8 Executive Board members, representing a variety of disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering, Computer Science, and Healthcare Management.

As Black and minority students in STEM, we strive to excel academically, succeed professionally, and uplift our communities. NSBE at UNO isn’t just an organization; it’s a platform for growth through scholarships, mentorship, leadership training, and professional development.

This year, we’re excited to attend the 2025 NSBE Annual Convention in Chicago, a four-day event bringing together over 15,000 attendees for workshops, leadership elections, competitions, and a massive career fair. This convention offers a unique opportunity to connect with industry leaders, gain valuable insights, and represent UNO on a national stage.

Our Vision We dream of a future where NSBE at UNO paves the way for more Black engineers to lead, innovate, and inspire others. Attending the NSBE Annual Convention will provide us with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to achieve our goals. We’re eager to bring these experiences back to campus, share what we learn, and strengthen our engineering community.

Why Your Support Matters We need your help to make this dream a reality. Your contribution will directly support our journey to Chicago by covering essential expenses, including:

  • Conference Registration: $3,500
  • Flights: $7,000
  • Lodging: $3,000
  • Transportation: $1,500

By supporting NSBE at UNO, you’re investing in the growth of future engineers and leaders. This convention will allow us to showcase our talent, gain professional insights, and bring back ideas that will benefit our peers and the broader community.

Help us achieve our dreams and contribute to a more diverse, inclusive future in STEM. Your support means everything. Donate today and join us on our journey! 🌟⚙️
