The UNO Driftwood is back!
On hiatus since 2020, UNO's student-led newspaper returned earlier this year. Both in print and online, the Driftwood's mission is to amplify the voices of our diverse student body and to foster a strong sense of community by covering the stories that matter most to UNO’s students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
As a fully student-run organization, we rely on donations, student fees, and ad payments to continue this UNO tradition! By supporting this paper, you contribute to keeping our campus connected, promoting diverse voices, and creating a thriving academic community. Your support empowers the next generation of scholars, writers, and journalists.
Frederick Quinn on Why Student Journalism Matters:
“Because storytelling and student journalism are not just about what happened and why. It is about connecting people and giving them the information and power to change the scope for the next generation. That is why student journalists matter, that is why we matter. Watch us as we give the voice back to the voiceless.”
The revamp of Driftwood seeks to expand its reach through its online presence. From covering campus updates to news of the surrounding New Orleans area, our purpose is to make sure our paper is relevant to student voices.
We hope you consider supporting our paper and allowing us to keep this mission alive here on campus!
