Some lessons are best understood through hands-on experiences. The Wilderness Institute helps University of Montana students grow as they explore and learn in Montana's wild places.
Students build practical skills in backcountry travel, planning and teamwork while studying outdoor leadership and land stewardship. Experiences include weeklong backpacking and multi-day river trips, service projects on the Smith River and research in the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex.
Your gift gets students into the field by providing rafts, outdoor gear, cutting-edge tools and much more.
By giving today, you help students learn, explore and care for wild places. Thank you for strengthening wilderness education!
