Founded in 2020, CCJC provides a community where students with a shared passion for criminology, criminal justice, and true crime can come together for learning, discussion, service, and social engagement. Members are able to participate in a variety of activities throughout the year, including guest speaker events, community service projects, field trips, and professional development opportunities. CCJC also produces its own true-crime podcast, Craving Crimes, giving students a creative platform to engage with fascinating topics.
Funds raised during Giving Blueday will directly support the Criminology & Criminal Justice Collective’s efforts to create meaningful academic and professional opportunities for our members. Donations will help cover costs for guest speakers, educational panels, field trips, social events, and community service efforts. Your support allows us to keep events accessible and free for students passionate about criminology and criminal justice. Every contribution helps CCJC continue to grow, learn, and make an impact both on campus and beyond.
About our Organization
Members will have the opportunity to learn more about the Criminal Justice System through attending events on campus that feature law enforcement officials, judges, former prisoners and more to discuss their life experiences. There will also be chances to participate in related nonprofits, such as working with Michigan Foster Care Closet to donate toys during the holidays and Gleaners food drive to package and collect food items.
The collective will enjoy off-campus group meetings and will be able to participate in a podcast called Craving Crimes run by CCJC where biweekly true crime podcasts will be recorded by group members and posted on CCJC social media, including Spotify and other streaming services.
