Your support on Giving Blueday helps Google Developer Groups on Campus at UM–Dearborn continue creating hands-on, high-impact tech experiences for students of all backgrounds. We are fundraising to expand our hackathons like HackDearborn, host more technical workshops, and bring in industry speakers who inspire and prepare students for real-world careers. Donations will go directly toward event supplies, software and platform costs, food for participants, prizes, and resources that make our events accessible and welcoming to everyone. Every contribution helps us empower students to learn, build, and innovate, turning ideas into real projects and students into confident future techs.
About our Organization
Computer science tends to be a very competitive and male-dominated field, which can deter many - especially women - from exploring this field. We aspire to make this club an inclusive, comfortable space where anyone can grow their skills and break into tech. This club aims to be extremely beginner friendly, to the point where our goal is to bring in as many non-CIS majors as possible. We believe that programming is a skill anyone can learn, and one that everyone should learn. Finally, we strive to provide value and knowledge that cannot be found from a Google search or YouTube video.
There are three main goals of GDGC:
1. Connect - To connect a diverse group of students of all skill levels with an interest in software and data
2. Learn - To learn about a range of technical topics and “soft” skills through workshops, events, talks and project building.
3. Grow - Apply new learnings. Advance your networking, technical and interviewing skills.
