Empowering Michigan Engineers to Lead Globally
By supporting the Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) Student Society, you help provide students with transformative opportunities in leadership development, professional exploration, and cross-cultural engagement which are experiences that define EGL and prepare students to lead with purpose in a global context.
Why Your Support Matters
The Engineering Global Leadership (EGL) Student Society stands as a catalyst for multifaceted growth and development, creating experiences that extend far beyond the traditional classroom. As a fully student-led organization, our ability to deliver these high-impact programs depends on philanthropic support. Gifts made on Giving Blueday directly fund the events that cultivate well-rounded leaders, from leadership development and professional exploration to global engagement. Last year’s donations made it possible to host immersive events, expand our Volunteer Abroad program, and strengthen alumni–student connections. As EGL continues to grow, this support is essential not only to sustain these opportunities, but to expand access so more students can participate. Your generosity translates directly into student impact: $20 helps fund a student’s participation in Global Bonanza, $200 supports a student’s participation in the Chicago Professional Development Trip, and $1,000 helps make Volunteer Abroad accessible by offsetting travel and program costs. This ensures EGL experiences continue to challenge students, broaden perspectives, and prepare them to lead with confidence and global awareness.
About our Organization
The mission of the Engineering Global Leadership Honors Program is to develop the personal, professional, and academic capabilities of our members. Through this development, members strive to build lasting relationships with other members, company representatives, and the University of Michigan community. EGL is built on 4 key "pillars": Engineering, Business, Culture and Leadership.
