We are a club sport at the University of Michigan, comprising two teams that compete at both the Collegiate and Open Collegiate levels against colleges nationwide. Throughout the year, we participate in five major competitions, including the Midwestern Sectional Championships and the National Championships. Our collegiate team has achieved remarkable success, consistently medaling at Nationals and winning National Championships in 2017, 2018, and 2020.
Our organization is entirely student-run, with six board members elected annually. Every athlete has the opportunity to run for a board position or take on chair positions that are critical to our team, including clothing chair, social media chair, or philanthropy chair, ensuring that everyone plays a role in managing and advancing the organization.
Donations play a crucial role in our success and will help to cover our ice costs. On-ice practices are essential to our performance in competitions, as we create choreography, enhance our skills and abilities, and refine our program to ensure a successful season. By supporting us, you contribute to our continued excellence and allow us to pursue the sport we love.
About our Organization
The University of Michigan Synchronized Skating Team consists of collegiate and open collegiate level teams. We are an entirely student run club sport at U of M. The Collegiate team has finished on the national podium for the last 13 consecutive years. They have won the US Synchronized Skating Championships 4 times in the team’s history, most recently in 2020. In 2017, UMSST expanded its program to include an Open Collegiate team. The Open Collegiate team has finished on the Midwestern-Pacific Sectional Synchronized Skating Championships podium nearly every year since its creation, most recently earning the pewter medal in 2024. Looking forward to the upcoming season, we hope to continue our success and love of the sport while proudly representing the University of Michigan. Go Blue!
