Treating battlefield traumas is significantly different from civilian trauma treatment. Issues with transport, terrain, weather, and active combat conditions make battlefield care exponentially more complex. The Max Harry Weil Institute for Critical Care Research & Innovation at the University of Michigan, is on a mission to fund trauma and combat casualty care research that leads to life-saving care, no matter the location.
Despite major advances in modern civilian medicine, few have been made that have specific impact in combat casualty care. The unpredictability of the battlefield and the need for a new generation of adaptive tools and devices that can be deployed on the battlefield are why we need your help this Giving Blueday.
In the world of medical research, it can take many years, even decades, to conduct the necessary groundwork to move a project forward. But through private support from donors like you, we can fund high-risk-high-reward research, maintain research facilities, and enable scientists, engineers, and physicians to investigate problems and invent the solutions necessary to save lives both on the battlefield and here at home.
This Giving Blueday, make a gift to our Combat Casualty Care Program to help us save and bring home the people who were willing to put it all on the line.
