Did you know that more than 40% of the patients of Michigan Medicine’s Ypsilanti Health Center face food insecurity? That inspired Maggie’s Marketplace, a food pantry which opened in 2017 focused on offering healthy foods including a variety of fresh and non-perishable items at no cost to both patients and their families, and the entire Ypsilanti community.
Since 2017, Maggie's Marketplace in the Ypsilanti Health Center has provided over 25,000 pounds of healthy food for patients, their families, and the greater Ypsilanti community. The demand keeps rising and Maggie's Marketplace has seen a greater need for food and basic supplies such as feminine hygiene products and infant, toddler, and adult diapers.
In 2025, Maggie’s will move to a new Ypsilanti Health Center with additional space to provide more supplies to those in need. We need your help to fill this new space and meet the demand. Your gift on Giving Blueday can bring relief in the following ways throughout the year:
- $20 provides feminine hygiene products for one month
- $50 provides infant diapers for one month
- $65 provides basic food needs for one person for one week
- $70 provides infant formula for one week
- $100 provides basic food needs for a family of two for one week
- $175 provides basic food needs for a family of four for one week
- $700 provides basic food needs for a family of four for one month
