The Jerome Jacobson Global Program at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center is committed to working toward the elimination of avoidable and preventable blindness and vision impairment by working to strengthen health systems, build human resource capacity, and enhance knowledge about the epidemiology and treatment of eye disease globally.
Founded in 2013, the Jerome Jacobson Global Program at the W.K. Kellogg Eye Center continues to thrive and grow. In 2023, we added a new education and training program in Jamaica. We continue to strengthen clinical vision research capacity in India and to work with partners in Kenya to expand the reach of their eyecare system in the western part of the country.
Now in its fourth year, our global ophthalmology fellowship provides trainees with firsthand experience providing high-quality eye care to underserved populations in resource-limited areas of the world, teaching trainees in diverse global settings, and participating in global health research. Broadening our reach further, our international observership program hosted 20 observers and visiting research scholars in 2023!
With your support we will continue to support vision research, education, and patient care around the world.
