The Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center (CHEAR) engages in multidisciplinary research and training focused on child health outcomes and health policy. Our mission is to advance the health and well-being of all children, adolescents, and families through research and education.
The Susan B. Meister Child Health Evaluation and Research Center is one of the largest centers focused on conducting research and training in child health outcomes and health policy across several core research themes. CHEAR is dedicated to examining essential aspects of child health and well-being that includes vaccinations, newborn screening, obesity, asthma, and costs of care. Our investigators prioritize research that is directly relevant to current health care policy to inform decisions made by state and federal policymakers and have led to extensive contributions to the body of peer-reviewed research about child health.
With 18 core research investigators and more than 40 research staff, fellows, and students, our center is recognized as a model for working across disciplines.
