Camp Michitanki is a summer camp run by the University of Michigan Health Transplant Center. It provides an exciting camp experience for children 7 to 15 years of age who’ve had an organ transplant at U-M or another local hospital. Campers spend a week in the summer enjoying activities that support their development in a fun overnight camp. Your gift today will go toward creating a safe environment where these incredible kids can make summer-camp memories.
Thanks to the generosity of people like you, the physical and emotional toll of life pre- and post-transplant is made easier for one week in the summer for kids who attend Camp Michitanki. Your gift today will allow campers to be surrounded by others with similar concerns, scars, and medication regimens. Their friendships thrive in an environment in which self-consciousness fades away. They share experiences and feelings, supporting one another in ways that simply cannot happen in other social settings.
On Giving Blueday, your gift will enable us to say “yes” to the most exciting week of the year for many children who have undergone lifesaving transplant surgery. Please help the Transplant Center and Camp Michitanki brighten the days of kids who have been given a chance to enjoy life in a special way.
