About

THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE STRATEGIC FUND - 308213

Our purpose is to cultivate the art of writing and study cultural expression in English throughout history. We analyze how expression both emerges from and affects social conditions; we research the historic and present-day use of the English language; and, most importantly, we support diverse ways of being and various ways of learning so that our students read, speak, and write with awareness and skill.

The English strategic fund directs resources to the areas in the department with the greatest need. Students in our graduate and undergraduate programs, faculty and staff, special projects, and program innovations can all achieve more with a healthy strategic fund.
