In honor of Mary Connelly’s retirement from UMass Lowell after 32 years in Student Affairs, we are establishing a scholarship to help carry on her legacy of support and encouragement. This scholarship will be awarded annually to students who hold leadership positions on-campus and who have mentored and inspired other students to be future leaders and active members of the UML community.
Over the years, Mary has worked with student veterans, at-risk students, transfer students, honors students, student leaders and graduate fellows. She has taught thousands of young people how to trust themselves and tap into their undiscovered strengths and talents. Mary has counseled numerous graduate fellows interested in careers in higher education. She has been more than an advisor to them – she’s been a mentor, a life coach and lifelong friend. Throughout her career Mary has helped students transform into who they were meant to be, the very best versions of themselves.
