If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice provides UMass Law students with opportunities to learn about reproductive justice, bodily autonomy, and how these issues intersect with different areas of the law. Our chapter has hosted events including Sex Ed Trivia, book clubs, and a “Liberty and the Law” panel discussing reproductive rights and bodily autonomy under the Constitution.
Funding will allow us to expand our programming through speaker events, educational activities, and more co-sponsored events with other UMass Law student organizations. By collaborating with other groups, we hope to explore how reproductive justice intersects with a wide range of legal issues and interests while reaching more students across the law school. These events give UMass Law students opportunities to engage with topics beyond the classroom, hear from practitioners and advocates, connect with their peers, and build a stronger and more engaged law school community.
