Cyber Secure Computing Club

The Cyber Secure Computing Club (CSCC) contributes to the UMassD community by providing students with opportunities to develop practical cybersecurity skills, collaborate with their peers, and learn about current trends and technologies in cybersecurity.

During the last semester, CSCC successfully organized a cybersecurity hackathon with approximately 45 participants across 20 teams. The event provided students with an opportunity to apply their technical knowledge in a competitive and collaborative environment. We provided participants with t-shirts and food, and recognized the top three teams with prizes.

In addition to the hackathon, the club held weekly meetings every Wednesday, where students could come together to discuss cybersecurity topics, share knowledge, and learn from one another.

Going forward, CSCC plans to continue its weekly meetings and expand its activities through hands-on sessions covering cybersecurity techniques, attacks, and defensive strategies, as well as guest lectures and presentations from UMassD faculty members and cybersecurity professionals. These activities will help students gain practical, industry-relevant knowledge and create opportunities for networking and professional development.

Through these activities, CSCC aims to build a stronger cybersecurity community at UMassD and provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn, collaborate, compete, and prepare for careers in cybersecurity.
