Cape Verdean Student Association

The Cape Verdean Student Association has been on this campus for over a decade. This organization was established to introduce the Cape Verdean Culture to the UMass Dartmouth Community. CVSA exists to provide Cape Verdean students, as well as non-Cape Verdean students, with a greater appreciation and understanding of the culture. This organization is committed to the recruitment of Cape Verdeans and students of other cultures at UMass Dartmouth. CVSA also has collaborations with similar Cape Verdean organizations in other educational institutions and the local community. We strive to expand every year, with welcoming open arms, not just for the CV community, but for everyone on and off campus.

CVSA hosts cultural, educational, social, and community-building events throughout the year. Our programs give students opportunities to learn about Cape Verdean culture while also meeting new people and becoming more involved on campus. We host general body meetings, cultural activities, collaborations with other student organizations, community events, and our annual CV Night, which brings the campus together to celebrate Cape Verdean culture through music, dance, traditions, and community. Through these activities, CVSA helps create an inclusive environment where Cape Verdean students can celebrate their identity while students from all backgrounds are welcomed to participate, learn, and connect.
