Gifts to American Society of Mechanical Engineers contribute to...
The American Society of Mechanical Engineers Club teaches students to combine their academic skills with technical knowledge to design, engineer, and manufacture mechanical projects. Our organization provides leadership opportunities and the chance to work on a team towards a common purpose.
Our organization has always been an active part of the UMass Dartmouth community. We strive to represent the school in the best light possible. ASME actively attends open house events, presents to local schools, and maintains a positive community within the club that is welcoming to all students who are interested.
We are raising money for our main project, the Baja SAE competition, a race where student teams from schools around the country compete with a Baja Dune Buggy designed and constructed by students. We will be using the funding for parts and tooling related to building the Baja Buggy and competition expenses. This year we have evolved our membership to completely envelope this scope, rebuilding and implementing systems put into place last year. With this approach, we're certain that we'll be able to compete and win this year!
