African Student Association

The African Student Association (ASA) hosts cultural, educational, and community-building events throughout the academic year, including weekly meetings and our signature event, A Night in Africa. Our weekly meetings provide students with a space to connect, discuss cultural topics, plan events, build leadership skills, and create a sense of community.

A Night in Africa allows us to celebrate the diverse cultures, traditions, music, dance, fashion, and experiences of Africa and the African diaspora with the larger UMass Dartmouth community. Through both our weekly programming and larger cultural events, ASA encourages students to learn from one another, celebrate diversity, and feel a greater sense of belonging on campus. Our activities are open to students from all backgrounds and help create a more inclusive and culturally connected UMassD community.
