Gifts to Class of 2028 Council contribute to...
The Class of 2028 Council hopes to build an inclusive and engaged community for all members of our class at UMass Dartmouth. Through events, raffles, digital content, and advocacy, we hope both resident and commuter students feel proud to be UMassD. Our mission is to create a true sense of belonging for our classmates.
The Class of 2028 Council supports the UMass Dartmouth community by recognizing student achievements through our “Student of the Year” highlights on Instagram. We feature selected classmates for academic success, leadership, talent, and kindness. With additional funding, we hope to provide small bookstore vouchers so winners can receive school merchandise or books as part of their recognition.
We also focus on support. We are working to purchase shared snow shovels for classmates who need to dig out their cars during winter, as available resources are limited. In addition, we use our Instagram to share important university updates such as FAFSA deadlines, scholarships, dining hours, and a place for students to submit concerns.
We’re raising money to support our students through opportunities that aren’t always covered by department budgets. Donations will help fund student travel to conferences, workshops, and professional events. These donations will help cover costs such as registration, transportation, and lodging so students can present their research and build connections without worrying about finances. Funds will also go toward club resources and materials that improve student success and engagement, such as study/tutoring supplies, outreach and demonstration equipment, and materials for educational and community-building events.
