At UMass Dartmouth, the Chess Club invites chess players from around the University to play chess Thursdays at 6:30. We are also hosting lessons for beginners to teach them to play. We are a growing organization, there is a lot of interest in chess around campus, lots of people signed up on our signup sheet at the club fair. With weekly meetings and a couple tournaments, we a great club to get involved with.
We are raising money for chess boards and a small prize for a chess tournament we are planning. This would be a lot of fun for everyone around campus. We currently have 35+ people who are interested, but only 5 or so boards.
