Gifts to Black Student Center contribute to...
The Black Student Center aims to provide a place for students of color to be able to work, relax, and communicate with each other outside of their class time, as well as provide meetings to open their eyes to the world around us and how it’s constantly changing. We want our space to reflect on the history of our colored students, but also anyone who is interested in learning about culture through the events we plan. Because as a center we believe: “Coming together is the beginning. Keeping together is progress. Working together is success”.
Supporting the Black Student Center means investing in the growth of a community dedicated to fostering equity, education, and empowerment. We aim to not only provide resources and events for students of color but also to serve as a bridge for the entire campus to engage with diverse cultures in meaningful ways. With donor support, we can expand our initiatives, from offering scholarships and mentorship programs to developing creative outlets like an oral history archive that preserves and celebrates the voices of underrepresented students. Every contribution helps us take another step toward creating a campus where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is a shared value. Together, we can build a legacy of progress and unity that will benefit UMass Boston for generations to come.
If you prefer to support the Black Student Center via check, please make gifts payable to “UMass Boston” with “Black Student Center” noted in the memo. Please mail your donation to UMass Boston Office of University Advancement, 100 Morrissey Blvd., Boston, MA 02125. If you have questions, please contact us at 617-287-5320 or giving@umb.edu.
