Register today to attend the Homecoming 2024 Japan Celebration on Friday, 25 October from 1830-2130 JST. Join us in person at The New Sanno Hotel in Tokyo, Japan for a fun evening, filled with great opportunities to network with your fellow classmates and alumni while making new connections!
This cocktail-style evening reception at the New Sanno will be an opportunity to:
- Hear remarks from UMGC leaders.
- Expand your professional network by connecting with fellow students and graduates.
- Embrace and ignite your imagination with your global UMGC community.
- Participate in UMGC gear giveaways.
- Enjoy hors d’oeuvres, live dj music, and more; a cash bar will be available.

If you would like to give a donation during your registration, the funds received will benefit the UMGC Student Aid for Emergency Relief Fund (SAFER) providing direct aid to students worldwide experiencing financial hardship related to an unforeseen emergency.
Please Note: The New Sanno is considered a U.S. military installation and has specific criteria and requirements for access. If you would like to attend Homecoming but require assistance with access, please email Homecoming-Asia@umgc.edu, after registering for the event.

When entering The New Sanno, all visitors must present a valid photo ID at the entrance gate. Non-U.S. Government visitors must present one of the following: Passport, Japanese Driver’s License, Japanese Residence Card, or Japanese “My Number Card” with photo.
Please note that UMGC is not able to sponsor visitors to stay overnight; all hotel guests must qualify for their own lodging eligibility or stay with someone who qualifies.
A limited number of New Sanno Hotel lodging rooms are available to reserve through UMGC on a first-come, first-served basis. Please contact Homecoming-Asia@umgc.edu if interested in reserving a room.

During the Homecoming 2024 Japan Celebration, hear remarks from

Jim Cronin is vice president and director of the Asia division at UMGC. Cronin joined the university in April 2000, after retiring from the U.S. Army as a lieutenant colonel that year. Cronin has focused on improving the functionality of UMGC's military portals and has served as an adjunct associate professor at UMGC, teaching Introduction to Public Speaking. He was inducted into the International Adult Continuing Education Hall of Fame in November 2017.

Sherri Sampson, JD, is UMGC’s senior vice president, general counsel, and chief people officer. In this role, she leads the Office of Legal Affairs and oversees Human Resources and the Office of Diversity and Equity.
