About the Privacy Program at Maine Law
Maine Law’s Privacy Program is growing rapidly—and donor support is driving that momentum. Since December 2023, more than $45,000 has been raised entirely for student opportunities in privacy, cybersecurity, and AI law. This GivingTuesday, an anonymous donor will match all gifts dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000, doubling your impact.
Your Gift Directly Supports Students
Recent contributions have already made an extraordinary difference:
-
Global Competition Success: Donations funded travel for our 2024 and 2025 teams to the Helsinki Information Law Moot Court Competition, where Maine Law placed second overall, and 3L Viv Daniel won Best Oral Advocate.
-
Conference Access: Support helped MLIPA students attend the AIGG Conference in Boston.
-
New 1L Award: We launched the Center for Law + Innovation Alumni Scholar Award, welcoming our first Scholar this year.
-
Recruitment & Travel Funding: Remaining funds are helping to support student conference travel and attract top candidates for the next admissions cycle.
Program Momentum
Interest in privacy law has never been stronger: 17 students are pursuing the Certificate in Information Privacy Law, 25 students are enrolled in the Info Privacy course, the Student Journal of Information Privacy Law released its third volume, and MLIPA (our student association) continues to lead with strong programming and alumni engagement.
Why Give Today
Your GivingTuesday gift—doubled through the $10,000 match—ensures that Maine Law students can access national opportunities, compete on the global stage, and join one of the most exciting and fast-growing areas of legal practice.
