About

Help Us Honor Retiring SPIA Director Capt. Jim Settele!

For more than 15 years, Capt. Jim Settele has championed students at the School of Policy and International Affairs. From his early years with NROTC to his leadership as SPIA’s Executive Director, one priority has remained constant: students come first.

To celebrate his impact, we’ve established the Captain Jim and Alison Fellowship in Global Policy supporting the next generation of leaders he has always believed in. Our goal is to raise $200,000 for SPIA fellowships, and thanks to matching funds, every dollar you give will be doubled. This Day of Giving is about coming together as a community. Whether it’s $10, $25, or more, your gift combines with others to create meaningful opportunities for SPIA students. If SPIA or Jim helped shape your path, this is a powerful way to pay it forward. By participating in the SPIA Fellowship Matching Challenge, you help ensure future students have the same opportunities to grow, lead, and make a difference. Make your gift today and help us reach $200,000 for the next generation of SPIA leaders.

This Maine Day of Giving, whether you're on campus or from afar—ENGAGE. Give where your heart leads and inspire programs and causes at the University of Maine with your generosity.

Donors who give $25 or more will receive a complimentary UMaine-branded Zipper Pull!
