The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences Events and Experiences (E&E) Fund helps CLAS support academic experiences that enrich learning and intellectual or professional development for students and faculty. Recent E&E funding has supported:
- The International Affairs Association’s attendance at the Harvard World Model
- UN Conference in the Philippines
- UMaine alum and YouTube star Milo Rossi’s presentation on campus
- Peruvian writer Karina Pacheco’s book presentation and talk
- Black Bear Robotics Club participation in the University Rover Challenge
- Music education workshops with Dr. Dan Johnson
- The Anthropology Student Symposium
- Installation of the “Real and True” art exhibit
And that’s just a small sampling. E&E funds have helped faculty travel for research opportunities and supported student participation in events both on campus and away. They’ve made possible lectures and workshops by renowned scholars who inspire the students they meet at UMaine. Whether E&E co-funding helps bring someone to our campus or sends a Black Bear out to explore, the transformative value of these Events and Experiences cannot be overstated. In case our feelings about the importance of this fund are still unclear, you should note that our very own Dr. Emily Haddad, Dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will be making a matching donation, dollar for dollar up to $2,000.
This Maine Day of Giving, whether you're on campus or from afar—ENGAGE. Give where your heart leads and inspire programs and causes at the University of Maine with your generosity.
Donors who give $25 or more will receive a complimentary UMaine-branded Zipper Pull!
