The College of Nursing & Health Sciences Enhancement Fund provides support to our internationally accredited Nursing Simulation Program. Within the LHC Group ∙ Myers School of Nursing, eight state-of-the-art simulation labs provide immersive, realistic healthcare experiences for nursing students. These simulations typically involve scenarios designed to mimic real-life clinical situations, allowing students to apply theoretical knowledge and develop critical thinking, decision-making and communication skills. This support fund is used to defray the purchase and maintenance of high-fidelity simulators, as well as staff and faculty professional development.
In 2023, the Nursing Simulation Program was reaccredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, one of only two accredited programs in Louisiana. This prestigious designation is made possible through the allocation of resources which enhance the student experience by providing a hands on, safe learning environment.
