University College didn't just give you a degree, it broadened your access to new perspectives and diverse experiences. And, as a proud Ragin' Cajun, when you graduated, you became part of something that will outlast your diploma. Now, students are walking a similar path you once did and are benefiting from opportunities donors like you helped to make possible.
Jordan S. is just one example of how your commitment continues to inspire. He wanted to change his major to general studies but was concerned that the deviation would prolong his path to graduation, as well as his financial burden. We worked one-on-one with Jordan to help him identify a path to his preferred track and scholarships that helped bridge the financial gap. He graduated in the spring of 2025, and is now a teacher at Breaux Bridge Elementary School. Because of supporters like you, students like Jordan are able to get the extra help they need to complete their educational journey. And now, he's achieving great things in our community. You have given Jordan, and hundreds of students like him, every reason to believe.
As we look ahead this year, we’re excited to continue building momentum by:
- Expanding opportunities to provide our students with stronger workforce alignment, through hands-on internships that enhance employability and career readiness, while increasing outreach to former students who are close to completing their degree but had to stop out when life happened.
- Growing our first-ever University College Alumni Chapter. With 100 members since launching two years ago, we look forward to keeping communication lines open with our alumni and providing more opportunities for us all to come together. Because of donors like you, we also celebrated a meaningful new tradition with the inaugural University College Distinguished Alumni Awards during our Homecoming Open House. Together, we recognized four outstanding alumni whose professional achievements, service, and generosity embody the spirit of University College. The enthusiastic response reaffirmed the importance of celebrating our alumni community, and we look forward to honoring another remarkable class this year.
