About

Leaving military service is one of the most significant transitions a Veteran will ever face. While higher education can open doors to new careers and purpose, the shift from military to academic and civilian life often brings challenges related to identity, belonging, finances, and stability. The Veteran Residential Transition Program exists to meet Veterans at this critical moment and help them thrive.

VRTP provides more than housing—it offers a structured, supportive environment designed to help student Veterans rediscover purpose and build a strong foundation for long-term success. Through personalized guidance and a tight-knit community, Veterans gain the confidence, skills, and support needed to navigate campus life and beyond.

Each participant works one-on-one with a dedicated case manager to develop an Individualized Transition Plan, identifying goals across academic, personal, and professional areas. This tailored approach ensures that every Veteran’s unique strengths and challenges are addressed.

Alongside individual support, Veterans participate in shared experiences that foster connection and belonging.

Program components include credit-bearing transition seminars focused on identity exploration, goal setting, and life after college; workshops and group learning covering study skills, financial literacy, wellness, and career readiness; and ongoing case management and coaching that connects Veterans to essential campus and community resources. Community-building activities, leadership opportunities, and service projects further strengthen purpose and peer support.

Donor support is essential to the success of VRTP. Scholarships relieve financial stress so Veterans can focus on their education, while program contributions sustain workshops, courses, and individualized coaching. Every gift directly impacts a Veteran’s journey—helping them gain stability, develop life skills, and emerge as leaders in their communities.

With your support, the Chez Veterans Center can continue empowering those who have served.

Together, we can transform transition into opportunity and help Veterans lead, learn and thrive in their next chapter.
