Balancing academics while raising a child is a tremendous challenge. Student parents at the University of Illinois juggle coursework, childcare, food security, stable housing, and peer connections, all while striving for a better future for themselves and their families. The Students with Children Network provides essential support by offering peer connections, meals, child-centered learning experiences, and critical resources to help student parents thrive. But we need your help to expand these opportunities and ease the burden student parents face.
Your gift makes an immediate difference:
- $25 gives a student parent’s child access to an after-school program for an entire academic year—providing a safe, supportive space to learn and grow.
- $50 offers over three hours of childcare, empowering student parents to focus on academics or household responsibilities.
- $100 delivers nourishing meals to 10 student parent families, easing the burden and ensuring children have healthy options.
- $250 makes a Student Parent Meet-Up possible—connecting 25+ families with peers, campus resources, and community support that strengthens their success.
There are 142 student-parent households with 207 children living in University Housing alone. With your support, we can create a stronger, more connected community where student parents don't have to choose between their education and their children's well-being.
Give today and help student parents succeed, because when student parents thrive, their children do too.
