Leadership Labs are immersive, multi-hour experiences offered in flexible formats—online, in person, and hybrid—that allow students to focus deeply on specific leadership skills such as Inclusive Leadership, Creative Problem Solving, Leading with Integrity, Networking and Personal Brand Development, and Strengths-Based Leadership. These interactive seminars equip students with practical tools they carry forward into teamwork, decision-making, and real-world challenges.
Complementing these Labs, the Illinois Leadership Center’s Workshops provide weekly, 60-minute experiential learning sessions grounded in leading research and designed to support leadership growth in areas such as empathy, conflict navigation, feedback culture, and storytelling. These sessions are open to all Illinois students and offer opportunities to practice and reflect on leadership skills in accessible, engaging settings.
Together, Leadership Labs and Workshops help students build competencies that employers value—such as communication, ethical reasoning, cultural awareness, and collaboration. These programs also enrich students’ educational experience by inviting them to explore their values, articulate their goals, and lead with authenticity.
