The Momentum Continues: Help Us Reach Our Next Milestone!
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve already reached our initial goal! To keep this impact growing, we are now aiming for $2,000 to fully enhance our student leader development programs for the 2026-27 academic year. Reaching this new milestone will allow us to fully fund the New Member Educator Forum for both semesters and provide critical enhancements to the SPARK Council Officer Retreat. Let’s continue investing in the student leaders who make our fraternity and sorority community thrive!
About:
You can help support the development of fraternity and sorority student leaders! Fraternity & Sorority Affairs offers several leadership development opportunities for various student leaders. These student leaders get the chance to learn about themselves, explore their personal strengths, get to know their peers and develop their network and begin to think critically about the challenges that fraternities and sororities face and how they will address those challenges in their organization. The opportunities include but are not limited to the following programs:
- The Chapter Presidents Leadership Academy is an all-day program for the chapter presidents from all 90+ fraternity and sorority chapters. It provides chapter presidents with leadership development, information about risk related chapter issues and the opportunity to build their peer network of presidents. Former chapter presidents serve as small group facilitators—allowing for peer led discussions which are a highlight for participants and which also furthers their own development with facilitation experience.
- The SPARK Council Officer Retreat is a multiple day experience for the council officers from the Black Greek Council, Interfraternity Council, Panhellenic Council and the United Greek Council. The program focuses on the specific roles of being a leader in a governing council.
- New Member Educator Forum brings together the officers in all chapters that work to orient new members or conduct membership intake processes. This program aims to give those student leaders the tools to create and elevate their education programs.
Supporting student leader development not only helps develop our current and future leaders, but it also helps strengthen each fraternity and sorority chapter. Leadership in a fraternity/sorority is an experiential opportunity where they can sharpen their skills, apply their knowledge and learn from their mistakes and successes. Investing in student leader development is a long term investment in the future success of that student!
