About

Phi Alpha Delta is the world’s preeminent law fraternity because of our dedication to service: service to the student, the school, the profession, and the community. It is through devotion to the ideals of compassion, courage, diversity, innovation, integrity, professionalism, and service that we better both our profession and our community. The purpose of Phi Alpha Delta is to form a strong bond uniting students and teachers of the law with members of the Bench and Bar in a fraternal fellowship designed to advance the ideals of liberty and equal justice under law; to stimulate excellence in scholarship; to inspire the virtues of compassion and courage; to foster integrity and professional competence; to promote the welfare of its members; and to encourage their moral, intellectual, and cultural advancement; so that each member may enjoy a lifetime of honorable professional and public service.

Our organization provides incredible professional opportunities for our members and students at the College of Law. These include initiation events with alumni on the Bench, speaker events with alumni and legal professionals, and trial competitions for College of Law students. Funding will primarily be used for our two major events: P.A.D. Law Mock Trial Competition in Washington, D.C., and our Intraschool Mock Trial Competition at the College of Law. Each year, Phi Alpha Delta sends two teams of four 1L students and two 2L coaches to the P.A.D. Law Mock Trial Competition in Washington, D.C. This competition spans three days and allows 1Ls to get experience with trial work and compete to represent the College of Law. Additionally, last year we began an Intraschool Mock Trial Competition at the College of Law hosted in the spring to allow all students an opportunity to obtain practical trial experience. We hope to continue both of these events this year and are in need of funding to continue all of our efforts to promote professionalism, practical experience, and passion for the profession at the College of Law.

We are trying to raise $5,000 to fund our travel/hotels/registration for our mock trial teams, PAD Intraschool Mock Trial Competition, and other chapter events.
