Gifts to Myra Bradwell Association for Women Law Students contribute to...
The Myra Bradwell Association for Women Law Students (commonly called the Women's Law Society or WLS) focuses on the concerns of women, both in the College of Law and in the legal profession. The organization raises awareness of women’s issues through speakers, seminars, and informal discussions and raises money for education and philanthropy. The group also sponsors luncheons with faculty members and other social and educational events.
Your donation helps the Women's Law Society hold their annual WLS Symposium! The WLS Symposium is a week-long symposium held in the spring at the College of Law. The symposium includes speaking events where students can come listen to and learn from women in currently working in the wide spectrum of the legal field. These events typically happen over the lunch hour and your donation would help us provide lunch to attendees and speakers. The symposium helps keep the organization engaged with our alumni network. The event has also proven to be crucial in helping women at the law school find job placements and network with other women in the legal field.
Ideally, we would like to raise $1,000. This would ensure that we are able to serve lunch for each symposium event! Serving lunch at the events encourages students to attend the event and ensures they are not missing a meal in the pursuit of education and professional development.
