About

For Giving Tuesday 2025, the Illinois community is rallying together to make sure all Illini have access to nutritious food and essential items so they can thrive!

The food pantry, located within the Food Assistance & Well-being Program ensures no student must choose between education and a meal. The shopping-style pantry provides free food and necessities to all students in a welcoming space.

According to American College Health Association's Student Health Data 2024, up to 50% of college students have experienced some form of food insecurity. Additionally, 28.1% of students report having eaten less than they felt they should because there wasn’t enough money for food.

The Food Assistance & Well-Being Program, located at the Activities and Recreational Center (ARC) and Campus Recreation Center East (CRCE), is focused on the development of students in a supportive and inclusive space with Food Science and Human Nutrition Students on hand to answer questions and provide resources.

Your gift helps fill the gap between what a student has and what they need.

  • A $75 gift supports up to 5 shopping trips,
  • $150 supports up to 10, and
  • $300 supports up to 20 shopping trips for students experiencing food insecurity.

Visit the Program's website at https://campusrec.illinois.edu/wellness/food-assistance.

Together, we can make a difference.
