The trombone studio at the University of Illinois consists of undergraduate and graduate students from across the country pursuing a wide range of degrees offered in the School of Music as well as students from many other majors on campus. In addition to curricular offerings, members of the trombone studio participate in a wide range of activities including welcoming world class guest artists to campus and traveling with the trombone choir to perform at state and national conferences.
In recent semesters students have enjoyed guest appearances by Michael Mulcahy (Chicago Symphony), Patrick Sheridan (soloist and educator), members of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band and a performance at the Illinois Music Educators State Convention.
Your support will help fund future events and travel including a performance at the 2026 American Trombone Workshop hosted by the United States Army Band in Washington, D.C. These trips and guest artists greatly enhance the experience that members of the trombone studio receive while at the University of Illinois.
