Gifts to CES-Third Floor Renovation contribute to...
Help Build the Future of Engineering at Detroit Mercy
At Detroit Mercy, progress starts with strong foundations—sometimes literally. Thanks to a generous gift from Mark Haidar '09, a proud engineering alumnus, we’ve begun a much-needed renovation of the third floor of the Engineering Building. But like any great engineering project, it’s not complete until it’s done right.
Mark’s journey is a testament to the transformative power of a Detroit Mercy education. After immigrating from Lebanon at 17, Mark earned his degree in computer engineering here and went on to co-found several successful tech companies, including Vinli and Dialexa. Inspired by his time in our engineering labs, Mark is giving back to ensure future engineers have the tools and spaces they need to innovate, collaborate, and succeed.
With Mark’s support, we’ve launched exciting updates, including:
- Improved wayfinding with clear directional signage.
- Inspirational art that reflects engineering excellence.
- Modern lighting and acoustics with energy-efficient LEDs and acoustic panels to create a welcoming and dynamic environment.
We’re thrilled by the progress, but we’re not done yet! To complete this transformation, we need your help to raise the final $70,000. Future upgrades will include:
- New flooring and doors to enhance the building’s functionality and appearance.
- Increased natural light to create a bright and inspiring atmosphere.
- A fully modernized space that reflects our commitment to innovation and student success.
Your support ensures we can provide a space where students push the boundaries of creativity, tackle cutting-edge projects, and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. Every gift, no matter the size, moves us closer to our goal of creating a world-class engineering hub.
Join us in shaping the future. Together, we’ll complete this project and build a space where great ideas come to life!
You can make a one time gift or choose to make a larger gift over time by choosing the recurring gift option.
