Project DU F.I.L.M (Film Initiative Linking Mentors) is a groundbreaking program that connects students with faculty, professional alumni, and community partners to create, promote, and distribute films while expanding opportunities in the filmmaking industry.
This initiative is dedicated to shaping the future of film both in front of and behind the camera by telling meaningful stories and engaging alumni and students from across the DU community to collaborate on original media projects.
“Project DU F.I.L.M. has impacted over 60 students and 40 alumni/community members. Together we have made three short award-winning narrative films, one 14-part documentary series, two behind-the-scenes documentaries about our process and a podcast showcasing the students, faculty and alumni who have benefitted through their participation.
This program is all about giving students a launching pad into the film and television business through hands-on experiential learning.
The experiences they gain, and the connections students make with alumni and local professionals are invaluable and provide meaningful career stepping-stones. We're proud of what we've achieved together!”
