Welcome to the DU Theatre Artist in Residence Fund, a creative initiative aimed at incorporating professional guest artists each year into our department’s productions and courses.
This fund provides our students with distinctive and varied teaching experiences from artists outside the Denver area, who spend a quarter in our department directing or designing one of our productions, or teaching our students skills such as choreography, stage combat, and the business of acting.
The opportunity to learn from professional artists provides enhanced learning for our students, a deeper appreciation for all aspects of theater-making, and networking opportunities in the industry which lead to internships and post-graduate professional work.
DU is committed to helping students bridge classroom experiences to future careers and Our Artist in Residence Fund does just that. Past guest artists have modeled professionalism during a production’s rehearsal process through their preparation, their care for the students and the creative product, and their expert ability to express complex ideas with clarity and experience. These professional artists demonstrate serious commitment to the success of the production and offer our acting, design, directing, and tech students incomparable pre-professional training.
Your support is crucial in helping us reach our annual funding goal of $10,000 and to make a meaningful difference in our students’ practice-based classroom experiences.
Thank you for your generosity and commitment to making a positive impact.
