The Project:
Our project is to launch a new student success center for all veterans, family members, and current service members who are attending the University of Dayton. This will allow us to connect with one another while building a supportive community that can assist with education benefits and facilitate academic success.
Who We Are:
The Military and Veteran Programs and Services (MVPS) Office, the Student Veteran Association (SVA), and family members
The Impact:
The MVPS Center will provide a centralized location to booster military-affiliated community morale, networking, and access to critical services and programming. For those who are not living on campus, it can give an opportunity to meet other veteran students. Additionally, a student center can bolster veteran success throughout the pursuit of their education. Recently transitioned service members can receive a warm welcome at the MVPS student center when they start their degree at the University of Dayton.
What Your Gifts Will Do:
Your gifts will allow us to equip the brand new MVPS student success space with top notch resources. The University of Dayton has covered essential startup costs and renovations; however, your donation will support important resources and events such as:
- A military service flag display
- A veteran/military resource lending library
- Coffee for veteran and military affiliated students (similar to Java for GIs)
- Printing for veteran and military affiliated students
- Meaningful wall art and display case exhibits
- New lounge furniture
- SALUTE Veterans' National Honor Society student memberships
- Bringing external military and veteran community resources to campus for co-curricular events
- Sending veteran and military affiliated students off campus for team building and professional development opportunities

Thanks for Your Support to the Veteran and Military affiliated Community at UD!
As graduations occur, and the semester ends on this calm spring day, UD Military and Veteran Programs and Services (MVPS) is grateful for your generous contributions!
With your help, we raised $3,750 through Flyer Funder, and another $430 through direct donations, for a total of $4,180! Our veteran and military students and families are so thankful for your support!
In this picture, with the view out of our window at the new MVPS Center, two words put it best - "Thank you!"

We are incredibly thankful for everyone's support!
The campaign ends in just under two hours. One more donation will put us at 50 contributors and $100 will push us to 75% of our goal!
We also received some exciting news that additional donations were allocated towards our initiative through a secondary platform. We will share our combined total soon. We're not yet sure of that amount, but we will be sure to share that with you soon!
Your support is truly appreciated, we are so proud to be UD Flyer Veterans! Your meaningful contributions will go far!
It’s a big day for fundraising at the University of Dayton:
- Today, Wednesday, April 14, is One Day, One Dayton, the University’s annual day of giving, and
- Tomorrow, Thursday, April 15, is the last day to support the Veteran & Military Student Center crowdfunding project!
Today, any gifts made to this crowdfunding campaign will not only support efforts to establish the Veteran & Military Student Center, but will also help the University reach its goal of 3,700 One Day, One Dayton donors (and we all know how competitive Flyers are)!
With $2,880 already gifted to the MVPS Center, we’re just $2,120 away from reaching our goal. Now is the time to contribute!
Please consider spreading the word about the campaign on social media, using the link above, as well as #1Day1Dayton. Please consider supporting and also sharing this with your family and friends right away!
Thank you for your support! And thank you to everyone who has already supported this or any other charitable cause this year!
