IPI/VLCFF Scholarship

Flyer Funder will enable us to assist Catholic School Educators, Church Ministers, and University of Dayton Alumni who have been affected by COVID-19 to continue their religious education through IPI/VLCFF courses. Many Catholic Educators, Church Ministers, and lay ministers have been impacted by COVID-19 through furloughs, layoffs, or cuts in salaries.

The Institute for Pastoral Initiatives (IPI) is a longstanding program within the University of Dayton. IPI mobilized resources within a comprehensive institution of higher learning for partnerships within the Church to create and implement innovative pastoral initiatives. Its mission is to meet the needs of the Church and articulate faith within the context of contemporary culture. In 2000, IPI launched its Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formation (VLCFF) to develop and offer religious programs to a wider audience. With over 30 years of prior media experience in producing catechetical media resources for faith formation, IPI strives to be on the cutting edge of rapidly evolving digital milieu to serve the faith, catechetical, and ministry needs of the Church. In only 20 years the VLCFF has grown to offer 536 e-course sections on topics such as doctrine, church history, sacraments, prayer, scripture, disabilities in parish life (special needs), and social justice.

IPI/VLCFF offers ongoing adult faith formation and ministry leadership formation around the world.  This grant will offer scholarship for those financially impacted by COVID-19 or other factors in their lives to have ongoing online adult faith formation.
