An investment in the UCCS Engineering/Cybersecurity Capital Fund, supports the expansion and renovation of the original Engineering Building, which was built in 1985. The reimagined space will provide a renewed environment for instruction, collaboration, research, and innovation. This project will expand community gathering spaces, update student/faculty labs and classrooms, provide new equipment, and update conference/huddle rooms for both planned and spontaneous meet ups.
A multi-story photochromic glass Grand Atrium will welcome all to the building and provide space for events and gatherings in addition to daily study and relaxation. Mezzanine lounges will offer quieter venues for group collaborations, and the greatly expanded Excel Center will provide exceptional math tutoring and other support to students. The addition of thousands of square feet of specialty and graduate labs, along with advanced computer labs, will enhance student learning and the preparation of tomorrow’s engineers, analysts, and scientists.
